The aeroLASE-PA100 is a high peak power fiber amplifier module, complete with pump and input signal interface fibers, enabling high pulse energy fiber laser manufacture without the challenges of complex splicing or interfacing. The scalable solution is designed for industrial use and enables a short time to market and low integration cost.
The module is robustly single mode and polarizing. The combination of air-clad technology with a microstructured Yb-doped core provides amplification near 1 mm to extreme peak power values. This capability is realized a new and unique pump combiner technology along with the air-clad amplifier fiber. These combined features are made available in industrial grade configurations. The modules can be counter-directionally pumped with commercially available 915 or 976 nm pump diodes, with up to 14 pump ports per module using a 14+1:1 combiner.
The aeroLASE-PA10 is a multi-purpose monolithic fiber amplifier module for medium power levels. The module features a strictly single-mode PM LMA Yb-doped fiber spliced to a 6+1:1 pump/signal combiner for co-directional pumping. The amplifier fiber is designed to be single-mode for optimum performance and stability without the penalties of coiled multi-mode LMA fibers. The pump/signal combiner utilizes air-clad technology with high numerical aperture for robust pump delivery with no interaction of pump light with the protective polymer coating.
The aeroLASE-PA10 is ideal as a pre-amplifier for high power fiber amplifier chains or as a stand-alone unit for low/medium power pulsed or single-frequency amplification.
